The Golf Club a Indigo Run is a private Club Corp course that has the distinction of being the first course co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II. They were rewarded for their efforts when the course was named "A Top Ten New Private Course for 1996" by Golf Digest magazine. The par 72 course tees range from 7072 yards to 4779 yards . A full calendar of golf and social activities are available, and with a limit of 330 memberships, availability of tee times and pace of play are excellent. Membership to either of these clubs also give you access to Sunningdale Park which has a pool, tennis courts and a playground for the kids. There is also an active women's club with a number of groups from bridge and needlework to gardening and antiqueing. Indigo Run is located between mile markers 3 and 4 on Hwy 278, convenient to shopping, dining, the Cross Island Expressway and the beach. A gated community with 24 hour security, it is an excellant location for either a permanent residence or a second home. When choosing a home on Hilton Head Island, Indigo Run is a "must see". Home prices range from the mid $500,000's to over $2 million. Lots are also available.
