Four golf courses are found inside the gates of Hilton Head Plantation.  Bear Creek and Dolphin Head are private, while Oyster Reef and The Country Club of Hilton Head are semi-private. 
  
                          
Bear Creek is a Rees Jones design established in 1979.  Jones refurbished the
course in 2006.  It offers a challenging, 6804yard par 72, well maintained course, with tight, bunkered fairways that weave through the plantation's pines and lagoons. The fairways are 419 Tifway Bermuda and the renovated greens are  super dwarf TifEagle BermudaThe layout is conducive to both walking and the use of golf carts. Dolphin Head , built in 1974, was the first golf course in the plantation and Gary Player's first course in the Hilton Head area.  At 6632 yards and a par of 72, the courses defenses are tight fairways, numerous sand traps, water on 13 of it's 18 holes and undulating greens.  The 14th hole brings Port Royal Sound into view.

                                  
Oyster Reef 
Golf Club originally opened in 1982 and proudly features an award winning 18-hole championship course. Carved out of 190 acres of breathtaking low country terrain, this Rees Jones design is a spectacular 18-hole championship course surrounded by winding lagoons, lush vegetation, and scenic views of the Island.  Ranging from 7,014 yards from the championship tees to 5,288 yards from the forward tees, the course rewards and tests golfers of all skill levels.  It has been voted one of the top 20 courses in the Carolinas and awarded Low Country Golf Course Owners Association "2006 Golf Club of the Year".

Country Club of Hilton Head is another Rees Jones course built in 1987.  At Par 72, the tees range up to 6919 yards.  It was a U.S. Open qualifying site in 1999 and 2005. The course integrates the natural beauty of the lowcountry as it requires you to negotiate thirteen doglegs, bunkers and elevated greens among the stately pines, salt water marshes and fresh water lagoons, The 12th fairway offers open views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Skull Creek.  It also offers for it's members indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, dining, and excersize facilities.
